Mrs Mitchell’s Primary 5 class at Good Shepherd Primary & Nursery School, Diocese of Derry, took time this week to reflect upon creation. The Primary 5 children discussed in particular what creation meant to them, and the variety of ways which their senses allow them to experience creation every day. Here are some extracts from their discussions with beautiful artwork to accompany them.
“I see the beauty of creation in a colourful rainbow.”
“I feel the beauty of creation in splashing around in the cool sea on a hot day.”
“I hear the beauty of creation in the singing birds.”
“I see the beauty of creation in the new life of Spring.”
“I feel the beauty of creation in the peacefulness when I say my prayers.”
” I smell the beauty of creation in the flowers in my garden.”
” I hear the beauty of creation in falling rain.”
“I hear the beauty of creation in a baby’s giggle.”
I feel the beauty of creation in the hugs of friends.”
I taste the beauty of creation in the autumn harvest.”
