In 1934,Pope Pius XI declared Don Bosco a saint, and stated that he was to be recognised as ‘Father and Teacher of Youth.’ Don Bosco dedicated his life to the education of street children, juvenile delinquents and other disadvantaged youth. To this day his ideals, his spirit, and teachings still live and are practiced by priests, brothers and sisters. He developed a teaching method, that became known as the Salesian Preventive System
