The Pieta – A Good Friday Reflection

Published: April 15, 2022

We invited Marguerite Hamilton, Jim Deeds, Marie Lindsay and Fr Aidan Troy to pray and reflect with Andrew White’s painting of The Pieta and to share their thoughts, prayers, reflections. Today on Good Friday we invite you to use this reflection to do the same. Take some time… to hold Jesus in your arms… to be still… to reflect… to pray…to love Jesus as Mary did.

We are indebted to Andrew for permission to use his painting. Andrew is resident artist at Farm Street Church, London. Andrew’s painting of The Pieta can be viewed there. Other examples of his work can be viewed at www.andrewwhiteartist.com

Andrew was one of the guest speakers at The Little Way Novena, in honour of Saint Thérèse of Lisieux in Saint Eugene’s Cathedral, Derry, 2019. A copy of The Pieta can also be viewed there.
