A Book for children and families written a year after Pope Francis was elected Pope.
This book helps encourage children to learn about Pope Francis, a man who knows and loves Jesus and Saint Francis of Assisi, his namesake.
The book has information about how a Pope is elected, about Pope Francis’ early life and some of his early days as Pope. There are reflections and prayers, using Gospel stories, to encourage children and families to stay close to Jesus.
Written by Therese Ferry, illustrated by the pupils of Ms Leona Matthews Year 7 Class Hollybush Primary School and David Doran (front cover). Lenny Meehan, St Cecilia’s College, Derry provided invaluable support and expertise in the production of the book.
The Book was launched In June 2014 by Most Rev Donal McKeown, Bishop of Derry.

This children’s book is intended for children and families, to help them to learn a little bit about Pope Francis and to pray together using the stories of Jesus.
