“A Catholic school is not just teaching secular subjects and then little bits and pieces of Church teaching. Our schools locate excellent teaching in the context of the experience of a world where we belong together.” (Bishop Donal McKeown)

This year is the anniversary of the birth of Saint Columba/Colmcille, the Patron Saint of our diocese. He was a man of great faith and resilience, who followed God’s plan for his life, by sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ wherever he went. In preparation for the Mass, schools in the diocese are asked to use the Oak Leaf Template provided to write a prayer for Catholic Schools Week and return it to the Derry Diocesan Catechetical Centre, via email to ddcc@derrydiocese.org
Below are the National Resources to help schools celebrate this week and reflect on how in the current situation, ‘our faith sustains us’ and ‘how we as a community support and care for each other.’ (National Resources, Catholic Schools Week 2021)
