Thomas More – A Man of Conscience

Published: May 9, 2022

Read about the remarkable story of Thomas More, patron of adopted children lawyers, civil servants, politicians, and difficult marriages.  He was a man of deep piety. He has been widely remembered as a man of tremendous integrity, and is recognised as a martyr.  Despite the danger to his life, Thomas refused to bow to the demands of King Henry VIII.  In his final statement, before execution he proclaimed that he was “the king’s good servant, but God’s first.” He shares his feast day  (22nd June) with his contemporary John Fisher.
