Feed My Lambs - book about Pope Francis

Feed My Lambs is a recently-published book aimed at children and young adults which celebrates the life to date of Pope Francis, a man of faith profound in its simplicity, joyful in its total commitment to Jesus. The book invites the young readers to walk with St. Francis of Assisi as well as with Pope Francis - two men who have much in common, not least of which is an unworldliness which presents the simple, uncluttered life in all its beauty, flooded with the light of Christ.

Feed My Lambs is illustrated by Year 7 pupils from Hollybush Primary School, illustrations which are delightful in their innocence and simplicity and which form an attractive and appropriate element of the book. It is an ideal book for the classroom: it invites the young reader to meditate on passages from Scripture which illustrate Jesus' love for us; to be still and reflect meaningfully on those passages; to pray in response to the meanings offered by the passages.

It is also an ideal book for parents who like to engage with their children's spiritual learning and growth: accessible, attractive, an encouragement to share with their child silence, meditation, reflection and prayer.

Feed My Lambs was launched by Most Rev. Donal McKeown on Thursday, the 12th June in Thornhill College. It is available from the Derry Diocesan Catechetical Centre, The Gate Lodge, 2 Francis Street, Derry, Tel:+442871264087, email ddcc@derrydiocese.org. and from Veritas, Shipquay Street, Derry.
