On Holy Thursday, at the Mass of Chrism, priests are asked to renew the promises they made on the day they were ordained to the priesthood. The Bishop asks them if they are resolved to be more closely united to Christ, to be faithful stewards of the mysteries of God, following the example of Christ in their duties and not seeking any personal gain.
The Bishop then asks the people present to pray for their priests and for their Bishop.
A special special thank you to Bishop McKeown and the priests of the diocese
On behalf of the Diocesan School Community, the McErlane Family, Melissa, John Joe and Isabella from Hollybush Primary School, Derry, offer a special thank you to Bishop McKeown and the priests of the Diocese of Derry, for all they are doing to help us to stay close to Jesus at this time. They invite us all to say a prayer for them today and to let them know how much we all care for them.
