Care! Hope! Pray! Act! Overview

Published: November 8, 2021

Care! Hope! Pray! Act!

“I have come that you may have life and have it to the full.” This programme is designed to help children and young people to move forward confidently in the hope Jesus offers, to find a balance in their life so they may live more fully the life God calls them to live, as unique, gifted and precious members of God’s family, placing Jesus at the centre of all they do. Care!Hope!Pray!Act! seeks to promote a positive lifestyle for children and young people, through a programme which combines their spiritual, mental and physical well being. It is suitable for primary and post-primary schools with links to home and parish.

Message from Most Rev Donal McKeown, Bishop of Derry

Jesus says that he wants us to have ‘life to the full’. But we all know that the two years have been very stressful for many people – young people and adults, pupils and staff in schools. This project wants to help everybody look forward with hope, and not merely look back in anger. People of faith in Jesus believe that even difficult times have their blessings. Followers of Jesus believe that ‘with God on our side, nothing can be against us’ (Cf St Paul’s letter to the Romans, 8:31). I thank all those who have been involved in preparing these materials. And I thank our schools for all that they have done to help pupils staff and families. I hope that these materials can be used to help individuals and school communities grow together in faith.”
