Celebrating Palm Sunday 28th March 2021

Published: March 26, 2021

Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week, the most sacred and special time of the year. The four gospel writers (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) tell of Jesus entering Jerusalem. As Jesus rode into the city people greeted him and spread coats and palm branches in front of him. The city was crowded with pilgrims celebrating the annual Passover celebration. Most people expected their Messiah (Saviour, King) to be a political and military leader who would free them from Roman rule. But the kingdom Jesus spoke of was not of this world. It was a spiritual kingdom, growing in the hearts of people who put their faith and trust in God.
